Book Review - by Sonja Bailey
Slow Death by Rubber Duck: How the Toxic Chemistry of Everyday Life Affects our Health by Rick Smith and Bruce Lourie
This book is a must read for anyone whom is even slightly concerned about the health of themselves, their children and/or the environment. A fast and easy read, it explores several of the most common toxins in our everyday lives. It gives the history of the toxin, what it does to the body and environment, what their own experiment outcome showed, where and what you find them in and some things you can do to reduce your exposure to them. It is a book that will have your emotions on fire - angry at what government allows in everyday products you are surrounded by - overwhelmed at the vastness of it all. If you read nothing else, the "detox" chapter will help with some practical advice to reduce your exposure which can't help but benefit your health and the health of all around you.
